Helen Mirren weighs in on being mistaken for Keanu Reeves's rumoured girlfriend
Helen Mirren finds it “very flattering” that people mistook Keanu Reeves’s new girlfriend Alexandra Grant for her when the couple seemingly went public with their relationship just a few days ago.
When the John Wick star was spotted walking hand-in-hand with the 46-year-old artist at the LACMA Art + Film Gala on Saturday (November 2), many fans took to social media to admit that they’d got her mixed up with the Catherine the Great actor.

When asked about it at the New York premiere of her upcoming film The Good Liar, Mirren told Entertainment Tonight: “I saw that. That was very flattering on me, you know, because she’s obviously lovely.”
The 74-year-old went on to note that Reeves and her director husband Taylor Hackford have been good friends since they worked together on the 1997 movie The Devil’s Advocate and that Grant is a “lucky girl” to have him in her life.
“I know Keanu well,” Mirren revealed. “He did a film with my husband and he is just the most adorable, lovely person. So she’s a lucky girl and I’m sure he’s a lucky boy.”
Reeves and Grant are believed to have met in 2011 when they collaborated on Keanu's life-affirming picture book Ode to Happiness. Five years later, they worked together again on photography series Shadows and in 2017, the twosome founded publishing company X Artists' Books alongside Jessica Fleischmann.
"She's one of the few people who's managed to get Keanu to open up about his emotions and past," a source close to the rumoured could recently told Life&Style magazine.
"He was in such a dark place for so long, but Alexandra's positive outlook and support have played a huge part in helping him turn his life around. Some say she's not only stolen his heart but she's also saved him."
