Heisman Trophy betting odds: Another quarterback most likely to win in 2019

All but one Heisman Trophy winner since 2010 has been a quarterback – and it doesn't look like 2019 will be the year that trend gets bucked.

Nine out of the top 15 players with the best odds of winning the prestigious award this season are starting quarterbacks, followed by five running backs and just one wide receiver.

The Heisman Trophy is given out annually to the most outstanding player in college football. Most recently, the honor was awarded to Kyler Murray in 2018, who went on to be drafted first overall by the Arizona Cardinals in the 2019 NFL draft.

The year prior, Baker Mayfield won the Heisman and was selected first in the 2018 draft by the Cleveland Browns.

Many players who have won the Heisman have gone on to have successful NFL careers, including Cam Newton, Mark Ingram and greats like Barry Sanders. Others, from Matt Leinart to Johnny Manziel, have unfortunately not seen their winning ways duplicated outside of college.
