Heavy Snow in Western Minnesota Strands Vehicles and Forces Interstate Closure

Interstate 94 was closed due to whiteout conditions and cars blocking the road, the Minnesota Department of Transport said on Wednesday, February 15.

Minnesota State Patrol spokesperson Sgt Jesse Grabow shared video from the scene, showing a line of stalled vehicles and tow trucks on I-94, east of Moorhead.

Roads were closed at 8 am local time, Grabow said, and some of the vehicles had been stranded since the night before.

The National Weather Service issued a blizzard warning for northwest and central Minnesota until noon on Wednesday, warning of hazardous conditions and downed trees, along with wind gusts up to 45mph. Credit: Sgt Jesse Grabow via Storyful
