Heartwarming video shows judge holding a lawyer's baby while swearing her into state bar

A Tennessee judge made a new lawyer's swearing into the state bar even more memorable.

A heartwarming video shows Judge Richard Dinkins swearing in Belmont University College of Law graduate Juliana Lamar while bouncing her son, Beckham, on his hip.

"On the day of my swearing in, right before we began, Judge said he wanted Beckham to take part in the moment," Lamar told BuzzFeed News. "And I am so glad he did because to have my son take part in one of the greatest moments of my life was truly a blessing."

The clip was shared by former classmate Sarah Martin and has gone viral, garnering nearly 700,000 views in just a few days.

"Judge Dinkins of the Tennessee Court of Appeals swore in my law school colleague with her baby on his hip, and I've honestly never loved him more," Martin wrote on Twitter along with the video.

Thousands have praised the judge for his seemingly expert baby skills and Lamar for her great accomplishment. One person called the video a "great example of true gender respect in the workplace."

Lamar said she that she couldn't have gotten through law school without the support of her husband Javon, as well as the love of her son and mom.

She previously worked for Judge Dinkins as a clerk in the Tennessee Court of Appeals and said he has "been a guiding light" throughout her law school career.

"During this event Judge Dinkins reminded me of how proud he was of me and that he knew I would do great things, even with a baby in tow," Lamar told BuzzFeed News.
