On January 12, news broke that Lisa Marie Presley, the daughter of music legend Elvis Presley, had died at the age of 54. Her mother, Priscilla Presley, confirmed Lisa's death a few hours after she was rushed to the hospital for cardiac arrest.

Shortly after, Lisa Marie's family released an official statement to the media. "It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us," it read, per People. "She was the most passionate strong and loving woman I have ever known. We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this profound loss. Thank you for the love and prayers. At this time there will be no further comment."

As celebrities flooded social media mourning the loss of Lisa Marie, a clip that was filmed two days prior started going viral. The snippet featured the late singer attending the 2023 Golden Globes for the 2022 biopic Elvis and she was honored by lead actor Austin Butler when he accepted the award for Best Actor in a Motion Picture Drama.

While discussing how he formed a relationship with the Presley family amid filming, the camera panned to both Lisa Marie and Priscilla and he thanked them for putting all their confidence in him to play the late rock and roll musician.

"I also want to thank our incredible producers and Warner Bros. and the Presley family," he said. "Thank you guys, thank you for opening your hearts, your memories, your home to me. Lisa Marie, Priscilla, I love you forever."

When social media users saw the short clip making its way around Twitter, they didn't hesitate to share their thoughts. Many expressed how moved they were by the way Austin recognized her just two days before she died.

"So amazing that he spoke so eloquently Tuesday night, he honored the Presley family that night ... it's amazing that was only two nights ago ... 💔💔💔," one person wrote on Twitter. "Austin Butler’s beautiful thank you tribute is even more poignant now," a different user commented. "Lisa Marie saw her dad being celebrated for the last time 💔😔," another fan added.

While Austin hasn't come out with a statement about the sudden loss, we can only imagine that he'll carry Lisa Marie's legacy with him as he continues to garner critical acclaim for portraying her father.
