BRONSON, MI. — For the second straight game the Bronson Viking boys basketball team just could not seem to miss. The explosive Viking offense poured in an amazing 74 points, led by 29 by senior scoring machine Aden Hathaway, as the Vikings steam rolled the Reading Rangers by the score of 74-35, their second straight game with over 70 points scored.

Bronson raced out of the gate in the first quarter and never looked back, putting together one of the most dominant first quarters you will see this season, outscoring Reading 23-1. The Vikings added to that lead by outscoring Reading 12-10 in the second quarter, building a 35-11 lead at the half.

The second half proved to be no different than the first as Bronson went on to outscore Reading 19-15 in the third quarter and 20-9 in the fourth to find the final score of 74-35.

Bronson was led on the night by senior Aden Hathaway who exploded for 29 points. Hathaway scored eight points in the first quarter, 15 points in the third quarter and six points in the fourth for his 29 points. Hathaway also added seven assists, six rebounds and five steals in a truly great all-around effort.

Two other Vikings hit double digits in scoring, led by Saylor Wotta with 14 points and Boston Bucklin with 12 points. Wotta chipped in with seven rebounds in the win while Bucklin added five rebounds for the Bronson effort.

Also adding to the Bronson winning effort was Kam Brackett with eight points, three assists, five rebounds and two steals; Dominic Kiomento with three assists, four rebounds and three steals; Miles Losinski with four points and seven rebounds; Andrew Norton with three points, one rebound and one block; Tanner Norton with two points, two rebounds and two steals; and Ashton Wells with two points.

Reading was led by Colton Wiler with 16 points, the lone Ranger in double figures.

With the loss Reading falls to 13-7 overall on the season and 8-5 in the Big 8 conference. The Rangers will next see acton Tuesday when they host league leading Jonesville.

Bronson meanwhile improves to 11-9 overall on the season and 8-5 in the Big 8 conference. The Vikings will be back in action Tuesday when they travel to Springport to close out their Big 8 schedule.
