Hasan Minhaj cast in film adaption of Colleen Hoover's 'It Ends With Us'

Comedian Hasan Minhaj has been cast in the upcoming film adaptation of Colleen Hoover's bestselling novel, "It Ends With Us."

The movie will also feature Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni in leading roles, with Baldoni also directing. Jenny Slate and Brandon Sklenar have also joined the project.

"It Ends With Us" centers around Lily Bloom, a resilient woman shaped by a tumultuous past who possesses a clear vision for her future. Amidst her life in Boston, she encounters Ryle Kincaid, a talented neurosurgeon, and is convinced that she has discovered her soulmate.

However, as their relationship progresses, uncertainties begin to arise, casting doubt on the strength of their bond. To further complicate matters, Atlas Corrigan, Lily's former love interest from high school, resurfaces, threatening to unravel her connection with Ryle.

Minhaj has been cast as Marshall, Ryle’s friend from high school who suddenly became wealthy after selling an app to a tech company.

Hoover has achieved notable success, particularly through TikTok, where her works have amassed over 3.8 billion views in the "BookTok" community.

With over 20 million books sold, including five of the top 10 best-selling print books across all genres in 2022, Hoover is currently one of the best-selling novelists in the United States. She will executive produce alongside Lively, Baldoni, Steve Sarowitz and Andrew Calof. Christy Hall, who wrote the screenplay, is also producing.

Minhaj premiered his second comedy special, "The King's Jester," on Netflix in October last year. He also co-founded 186K Films, which will be partnering with Amazon Studios for their first feature, "For The Culture," for which he co-wrote and will also star.
