Following the school shooting in Uvalde, Texas that killed nineteen children and two adults, Harry Styles has announced that he is partnering with Everytown for Gun Safety for his upcoming Love On Tour. For the North American leg — which consists of 42 stops — the artist will work with Everytown to share action items in their fight to end gun violence.
Harry has also pledged $1 million to the gun safety organization, a donation that was matched by entertainment giant Live Nation.
“Along with all of you, I have been absolutely devastated by the recent string of mass shootings in America, culminating at the latest in Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas,” he wrote in a statement on Instagram. “On our North American tour, we will be partnering with Everytown who work to end gun violence, donating to support their efforts, and sharing their suggested action items. Love, H.”
In the next slide, Harry posted a statistic from Everytown Research & Policy that states firearms are the leading cause of death for children and teenagers in the United States. He also included the phone number for people to join the organization’s efforts. (You can text “ACT” to 64433.)
“End gun violence,” he captioned the post.
