  • Harry Styles threw some shade at Zayn Malik in his Saturday Night Live monologue last night.

  • Zayn left One Direction without saying goodbye, and it seems like his bandmates are still upset about it.

It’s never too early in the morning for boy-band drama, so please wake up, grab your coffee, and settle in. As Harry Styles stans (me, hi) all know, the musician hosted Saturday Night Live last night. And in addition to blessing us with his musical and comedic stylings, Harry also took a moment in his opening monologue to shade his former One Direction bandmate Zayn Malik.

At one point in the monologue, he joked, “I’m not in a boy band anymore. I’m in a man band now. I was in a band called One Direction.” Harry went on to share, “I love those guys. Niall, Liam, Louis...” and then he struggles to remember the name of the other person who was in the band (aka Zayn), before concluding, “and, uh, Ringo! Yeah, that’s it.” And honestly, Harry pretending to forget Zayn’s name on a major television show is the level of shade I aspire to!

And Harry isn’t the only member of One Direction who’s been airing his ~thoughts~ on Zayn this month. In an interview with British GQ, Liam Payne spilled some tea, sharing that Zayn didn’t say bye to his bandmates after leaving One Direction. Liam said:

I think with Zayn’s particular exit and the way he chose to go, we haven’t really heard from him since he left. He didn’t even say goodbye, if I am being honest. It was a really sordid scenario, from our side, certainly. A bit strange. It’s difficult.

He also added, “It got to a point with me where I wouldn’t know where to begin with Zayn. I hope he has good people around him, but I don’t at this stage think it’s anything the rest of us can solve.” Yikes!
