Harry Styles' New Single is FINALLY Here and It's Not What You Expected

Harry dropped his highly anticipated new solo single "Sign of the Times" at midnight and it's like nothing you've heard from the former One Direction heartthrob before. Unlike Zayn, who went RnB; Louis, who went EDM; and Niall, who went the folky pop route - Harry has decided to turn the clock back and go all '80s rock god on us.
His piano-heavy ballad about falling on hard times in life (or in a relationship? Who knows? It's all very vague...) sounds more like it belongs on a David Bowie album circa 1984, not at the top spot on the iTunes singles charts above pop hits like Bruno Mars' "That's What I like" and Ed Sheeran's "Shape of You". But that's where it sits comfortably at this very moment only eight hours after its release.
While the song is pretty vague it does seem to take a subtle political turn during the bridge. "We don't talk enough / We should open up / Before it's all too much / Will we ever learn? / We've been here before / It's just what we know," he sings passionately in his familiar passionate, gravelly tone you've missed too much.
It could be a nod to the very intense social issues we're facing in both the U.S., U.K., and all around the world. Is he telling us to get up, start talking to one another, and take action?
