It was a Hogwarts reunion this weekend for several cast members of the Harry Potter movie franchise when one of the Patil twins married at a historic venue in England.

Actress Afshan Azad, who played Ravenclaw Padma Patil in the movies, married her fiancé Nabil Kazi on Sunday, August 19, at the Symphony Hall in Birmingham.

“Yesterday was the most epic night,” Azad expressed alongside a photo from the ceremony. “My handsome husband and beautiful in-laws went above and beyond and blew me away with the most magical Walima party. Historically, the first wedding to EVER happen in this venue, it was absolutely breathtaking. My very own Royal Wedding! Thank you to everyone who helped put this night together. Here’s to a lifetime of Happiness with you my love – We did it.”

There to support Azad were her former co-stars Bonnie Wright, who played Ginny Weasley in the films, and actress Katie Leung, best known for her portrayal of fellow Ravenclaw Cho Chang.

“Celebrating our beautiful bride @afshanazad‘s special day,” Leung wrote of the couple’s Walima marriage banquet. (It’s unclear whether actress Shefali Chowdhury, who played Padma’s twin sister Parvati Patil in the movies, attended the nuptials.)

The bride first appeared in The Goblet of Fire, landing the role after having no acting experience. “The first day, we had to do a cast read-through, where we go through the whole script,” she once said of her sudden turn into acting. “I was a bit star-struck… I was a big Harry Potter fan.”

It’s been quite the year in weddings for the Harry Potter cast. Actor Matthew Lewis, best known as Neville Longbottom in the film franchise, married his love in May.
