Fans of the Indiana Jones film franchise are probably feeling a little confused right now, as rumors have it that the upcoming fifth film, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, could potentially be the end of the franchise–or not?

The star of the adventure films, Harrison Ford, attempted to clear it all up by sharing his thoughts on what the future might hold for the franchise during a press conference promoting the latest movie, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, at Cannes Film Festival on Friday, May 19.

During his appearance, Ford was asked about the film possibly being his last time playing Indiana Jones.

He responded, "Is it not evident? I need to sit down and rest a little bit. I love to work, and I love this character, and I love what it brought into my life, and that's all I can say."

Ford added that he "wanted to round up the story" with the new film.

"Everything has come together to support me in my old age, and I love the work. So I just want to work and I want to tell stories, good stories, and I have been so lucky in my life to have that opportunity," he continued.

Ford also discussed Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny's use of de-aging CGI and his thoughts on it.

He said, "I think it was used very skillfully, so I'm very happy with it. But I don't look back and say, 'I wish I was that guy again,' because I don't. I'm happy to be, you know what? I'm real happy with age — I love being older. It was great to be young, but s--- fire, I could be dead, and I'm still working."

The new film Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is directed by James Mangold, who previously helmed Ford v FerrariLogan, and Walk the Line, among others, while the cast includes Ford, Mads Mikkelsen, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Boyd Holbrook, and more.

Although it sounds like Ford won't be back as Jones anytime soon, who knows what's in store for the franchise as a whole.

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is headed to theaters on June 30.
