Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart's relationship timeline as they make rare joint appearance in Cannes

Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart have made a rare joint public appearance, holding hands on the Cannes Film Festival red carpet at the premiere of the Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.
The married couple were pictured looking relaxed and happy at the iconic gala on May 18 in support of the world premiere of Ford's new movie.
For the occasion the Star Wars actor, 80, looked dapper in a classic black and white suit, teamed with a black bowtie.
Meanwhile former Ally McBeal lead Flockhart, 58, opted to wear a low-key sheer black gown with a tulle skirt and velvet trim.

Ahead of the screening, Ford received an honorary Palme d'Or from the Cannes Film Festival and in his acceptance speech he touchingly thanked Flockhart for her support.
"My life has been enabled by my lovely wife, who has supported my passion and my dreams, and I'm grateful," the star said.
How long have Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart been together?
Flockhart and Ford have been married for well over a decade, despite their 22 year age gap initially raising eyebrows.
First meeting: 2002
Ford and Flockhart first crossed paths at the Golden Globe Awards in 2002. At the time Ford was still married to his second wife Melissa Mathison, though Mathison had filed for legal separation in 2001, with their divorce being finalised in 2004.
The duo said that though they had seen each other on screen, they weren't looking for a relationship. "I remember loving him in Mosquito Coast, but I didn't really think about him," said Flockhart.
At the time of their meeting Ford was a dad to four children — Ben and Willard with his first wife Mary Marquardt; Malcolm and Georgia with Mathison.
Calista had also recently adopted her infant son Liam in January 2001.

First date: 2002
Following their meeting, the pair began dating, with their age gap initially raising eyebrows. Ford was 60 years old at the time, 22 years older than Flockhart.
The couple's first date wasn't quite as romantic as it could have been with Flockhart's Ally McBeal co-star James Marsden tagging along.
During an appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden, Marsden explained that having become friends with Flockhart she had asked him to accompany her on the date.
They ate dinner together. Then Flockhart asked Marsden to join them for drinks at Ford’s home.
“Really?” Marsden recalled reacting. “I don’t wanna get my ass kicked by Han Solo.”

Red carpet debut: 2002
The couple made one of their first public appearances together at the 59th Venice Film Festival.
Ford declares his love for Flockhart: 2003
Having kept their relationship under wraps, Ford publicly declared his love for Flockhart in June 2003.
"I'm in love," the Star Wars actor told People. "Romantic love is one of the most exciting and fulfilling kinds of love and I think there is a potential for it at any stage of your life. I was not surprised that I was able to fall in love, and I wasn't surprised that I did."
Meanwhile speaking of their age difference, Flockhart said it didn't bother her.
"It doesn't faze me," she explained. "It doesn't factor into our relationship at all. I like the way he looks first thing in the morning. It's not handsome, it's more cute. He looks like a little boy."
Couple get engaged: Valentine's Day 2009
Ford proposes to Flockhart after seven years of dating.

Harrison and Calista cemented their relationship by walking down the aisle in June 2010, in an intimate ceremony in Santa Fe, New Mexico, with Liam in attendance.
Flockhart supports her husband after his plane crash: March 2015
Having obtained his pilot's licence, in March 2015 the actor crashed his vintage plane on an LA golf course with Flockhart later sharing how the accident impacted the couple.
"I think it just makes you realise once again that life can turn on a dime, and we just have to appreciate every second we’re here, because you never know," she told People.

In 2015, Flockhart revealed that Ford was "learning to text" at age 73, but he didn't get the idea of emojis. "He says, 'Where'd you get that picture from?'" she said during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!

Trying to find the right project to work on together: Present
Having never previously worked together, the couple admit they haven't ruled out the idea of being co-stars. "We'd love to find one we could do together," Ford told Fox News.
"She's just going back to work after having devoted herself to the raising of our son, Liam, for the last 20 years ... [She's] enjoying going back to work. I'm hoping we will find something to do together.
