Hannah Brown was ready to test herself.

The former Bachelorette star burst onto the national stage when she appeared on three major reality shows in 2019 — after placing seventh on The Bachelor, she starred on The Bachelorette before going on to win Dancing With the Stars. In the nearly four years since, while she still remained in the public eye, she has avoided reality TV.

This year, though, Brown is back in the spotlight as one of the celebrity participants on Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test, which drops a bunch of household names into the Jordanian dessert to undergo brutal military training. For the “God Bless This Mess” author, joining the show wasn’t about being back on television; it was truly about testing her own mental and physical strength through a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

For the latest episode of In The Know’s pop culture interview series We Should Talk, Brown opened up to Gibson Johns about her time on the show, explained her reasoning for joining and pulled back the curtain on finding out who else was on the show, how they spent the very little downtime they had and what she found to be the most difficult aspect of the experience. They also discussed her desire not to take the expected path of someone in Bachelor Nation, how she’s changed in her years away from reality TV and more.
