Halsey Dressed Up as D.Va from Overwatch and a Pro-Gamer Responded

While spending time self-isolating at home, Halsey might have found her new life calling — aside from music and visual arts, of course. Aside from putting out new songs, these days the singer has been flexing her multifacetedness via the art of cosplay and her latest one might be her best yet.

On April 30, the “Without Me” singer took to her social media to share a few snaps of herself dressed up as D.Va, a popular character from Blizzard’s Overwatch game — with some liberties of course.

To channel the character, the singer skipped D.Va’s trademark jumpsuit and donned a blue, black, and pink athletic-fit bikini, mechanical gloves, and the character’s signature headgear. She also, understandably, skipped D.Va’s trusty (and very large) pink robot, named Tokki (“rabbit” in Korean because that’s where the character hails from in the game) but added a nod in her outfit.

Halsey shared her rendition of D.Va in a series of snaps, where she lays on the grass, that she posted to both Twitter and Instagram. The caption that went along with her photoshoot read, “another day another play.”

Earlier this month, the star also channeled her inner Chibiusa from popular anime Sailor Moon and it’s clear that cosplaying has become a new habit of hers. And hey, she’s doing it well because her latest caught the eye of some actual Overwatch pro-gamers.

Caleb McGarvey, better known in the gaming community as McGravy, who plays Overwatch competitively with Los Angeles Valiant, saw Halsey’s tweet and responded with a D.Va cosplay of his own. He shared his take, which favored the classic jumpsuit with the same caption as Halsey’s, and the singer actually re-tweeted the share in support, writing, “king.”

We might have a while to go until Halloween but Halsey is certainly putting forth cosplay as a solid at-home activity atm and we’re taking notes!
