Halsey Has a Buzz Cut Now

Halsey did it—and by “it,” we mean she shaved her head. 

The pop star posted a now viral TikTok of her big hair change reveal on October 19, and in just three hours, her video had 2.7 million views. The artist took part in the popular TikTok trend of women going through drastic hair transformations set to an audio clip by @Makalya. “Don't do it, girl, it's not worth it,” the voice begins. “I'm not gonna do it, girl, I was just thinking about it…I did it.”

Instead of showing the process, Halsey opted to quickly shake off a long brown wig to debut her new buzz cut. 

On Instagram, Halsey's hair transformation has already been viewed more than 800,000 times and has over 19,000 comments. “WE LOVE BALDSEY,” one user on TikTok commented, garnering 13,800 likes for that particular play on words. 

Of course, this is not the first time Halsey has rocked a buzz cut. The "You Should Be Sad" singer is known for playing around with her hair and is no stranger to fun wigs. In fact, Halsey has rocked short hair for years. Here's a look at her natural curls back in December 2019:

This is also far from the first time Halsey has made waves over her hair. Fans went wild in June 2019 after Halsey embraced not just her natural hair, but her armpit hair as well on the cover of Rolling Stone.

What is perhaps more notable is how viral this video went on the social media app, despite the artist posting only once before. Her first and only other TikTok video was posted all the way back in May 2020—which feels like a decade ago. In the video, Halsey can be seen in a vibrant red wig that gives off major Ariel vibes while she lip-synchs to her song “Be Kind.”

That simple video also has 2.8 million views, proving one thing: We would all like to see a lot more Halsey on TikTok.
