Halsey Brings a Romantic Edge to Paris Fashion Week

For those taking in the collections from the front row each season, dressing up is an art form; but even the most dedicated clotheshorse feels the need to step it up for Paris Fashion Week. And while Halsey may be no slouch in the style department, this season, she and stylist Zoe Costello have had fun subverting expectations. While many of the singer’s outré outfits have made headlines over the years, at yesterday’s Y/Project show, the singer switched gears in one of Glenn Martens’s floral gowns. Covered in a botanical print and detailed with black beading across its bodice, the silk dress was sweet without being saccharine.

With her hair pulled back in a long, center-parted ponytail and a row of tiny flowers painted across her face, Halsey played up the look’s romantic feel. A standout piece from the brand’s Fall 2019 collection, the dress was an unexpected choice for the star’s ever-evolving style journey, and one that kickstarted her PFW adventure. With four days of fashion shows left, the only question is what daring outfit she’ll turn up in next.
