  • Halle Berry shut down Instagram trolls who made some unnecessary comments about her relationship history.

  • When a user wrote that she couldn’t keep a man, the actress replied, “Who says I wanna keep the wrong man?”

  • Berry has been divorced three times and has opened up about all that she’s learned following her previous marriages.

If you’re going to come for Halle Berry, you’d better expect a brutally honest response. On Sunday, the actress shared a quote to Instagram that read, “Women don’t owe you sh*t,” and while many fans showed lots of support for the post, some commentors were less than friendly.

Berry, who is currently dating musician Van Hunt, has been divorced three times after marrying David Justice, Eric Benét, and Oliver Martinez. One troll took a shot at her personal life and wrote, “Says the women who can’t keep a man.” Berry had no problem replying, “Who says I wanna keep the wrong man? cuz....I don’t ❤️🙏🏽.”

But the comments didn’t stop there. Another hateful person wrote, “You may have to start looking in the mirror, because it’s definitely you. What is it that you’re doing wrong? With all of your accomplishments, fame, beauty, it seems, as if, you CAN’T keep a man. I get the feeling that you’re too controlling, demanding, and probably full of yourself. IDK... but it’s definitely you.”

Berry replied with grace and wrote back, “Who said I wanted to keep them? I’m all about living your best life. If you make a wrong move, course correct and re-spin and start again! 😂🙏🏽🔥.”

Totally uncalled for, right?

Berry has previously opened about her past relationships, and she admitted at the 2017 City Summit in Los Angeles that her breakups have “not been easy, especially when there’s children involved,” Entertainment Tonight reported.

But, “as hard—and sometimes embarrassing—as it was,” Berry said she learned so much about herself through it all. “All of those relationships were necessary for me,” she said. “We all come here with lessons that we have to learn and those relationships provided me with lessons that got me to where I am right now.”

In an Instagram Live with her friend Lena Waithe, Berry explained that she wanted to take some time to be single after her separation from Martinez in 2016 so she could focus on taking care of herself and her kids Nahla, 12, and Maceo, 6, People reported.

“I no longer feel the need for a relationship, so I don’t feel the need to rush or accept something that’s not totally right for me,” she said. “Not that anything’s wrong with the people I’ve been with, but I’m going to wait for my match or I will stay solo and be with my kids and do my life the way I’m doing it.”

“I think the gift is, and this is something that comes with age, the gift of your own company,” Berry continued. “I promise you, you will start to enjoy that time and being with yourself and your company being the most important company.”
