Not everyone was a fan.
This week, Megan Thee Stallion shared more details about her shooting incident with fellow rapper Tory Lanez. During an Instagram Live on Thursday, Megan revealed how she was reluctant to tell police the truth and withheld information to protect Lanez, after accusing him of lying about his involvement in her injuries.
Meg explained that Lanez is not in jail right now because she was afraid as a woman of color to "tell the law what happened as soon as it happened," and didn't want to get in more trouble. She added, "Ask [him] why he not sayin’ nothin. What the f—k he going to get on here and say? ‘Yeah, I shot her.’ Why? Tell ’em why you shot me. No reason. Stop f—ing lying on me. Stop f—ing acting like black women is the motherf—in’ problem.”

"Black women are so unprotected & we hold so many things in to protect the feelings of others w/o considering our own," she wrote. "It might be funny to y’all on the internet and just another messy topic for you to talk about but this is my real life and I’m real life hurt and traumatized."
