Halle Berry Debuted a New Bob Haircut at the Oscars and It’s So Chic

The Oscars are an opportunity for many things: great gowns, bad speeches, and horribly awkward celebrity interactions. And another thing they’re good for? Debuting a brand-new haircut. Tonight, Oscar winner Halle Berry showed off a brand-new bob, and it is so, so good. Here are the pics, because they’re really the only thing that can capture this.

Okay, so not only is it perfectly angular, she also has baby bangs to go with it. And that color? Those perfectly placed highlights? Who could pull this off?! Literally only her! This haircut would make me look like Edna Mode from The Incredibles.

The actress wasn’t nominated for an Oscar this year (and she’s already won one for Monster’s Ball in 2002 and was the first Black woman to win that award), but she did attend to present the award for Best Production Design and Best Cinematography. She wore a custom LaQuan Smith gown that I will be thinking about for many, many days to come.

The Oscars were, shockingly, held in person this year but not in their usual location. They took place in Union Station in Los Angeles, and presenters were able to attend and even present without their masks on. Wild! That meant we got to see Halle’s new ’do in all its glory. Thank god for that.
