Of all of the absurd gag gifts out there, this hairbrush flask is in its own category of over-the-top. At first, it's hilarious - a cup that looks just like my circa-2001 Goodies brush! - and oddly practical, in that illicit (unless it's BYOB) booze-smuggling way. Then, it turns kind of dark: Just how, exactly, are people using this?
It got our attention for the obvious: Everyone knows someone who's gone to outrageous lengths to smuggle a drink - be it booze or bottled water - to avoid paying the sky-high prices of any kind of liquid at a music festival or theater. (Seriously, $6.50 for 16 ounces of Poland Springs?! You're kidding, right?) This is the gag gift for that person. For the person who loves a drink so much that you wonder if he or she is bordering on dependency, this 'Stealth Flask' and a "that's so you!" note is just a bad, bad idea.
Of course, though the flask is designed by a company called Smuggle Your Booze, Inc. (yes, that's its real name), it doesn't have to be used for alcohol. It holds 6 ounces, so you could, theoretically, fill it with sprinkles, caramel sauce, or a little Diet Pepsi if you're a fanatic trapped in a Coca-Cola world - like Disney World, which only offers the latter.
