When it comes to fashion, there's a golden rule everyone should follow: If your outfit makes you look and feel good, then it's a keeper. But more often than not, many of us settle for less-than-ethical style choices just to keep up with the latest fashion trends (or vice versa). Now, H&M is giving us the best of both worlds with their brand-new Conscious collection: sustainably-sourced styles without the hefty price tag.

Just in time for summer, the new line is full of lightweight, flowy dresses to keep you cool - and chic - during the next few months and beyond. Our summer wardrobe must-have? The neutral lyocell-blend dress, which is currently available in sizes 0 to 18.

"It’s the perfect summer dress because it’s an easy and effortless choice to throw on, yet still look polished," Ann Wang, Good Housekeeping's associate fashion editor, explains. Whether you have a casual summer wedding in your future or just another Sunday brunch date with your friends, this airy, flared dress is seriously easy to style. Pair it with a denim jacket once the sun sets or even, throw it on top of a bathing suit after your beach day. An added bonus: Since the dress is midi-length, it also provides some - key word: some - coverage from the sun. (FYI, this doesn't replace sunscreen!)

And now, for the best part: Even though this midi is made with more sustainable materials -50% viscose and 50% lyocell - it's still totally machine washable. That means if you stock up on a few of these summer dresses, your low dry cleaning costs will balance out your climbing electric bill. BEST NEWS EVER.

See? You don't have to make major sacrifices to save the environment ... or your closet. Actually, the Conscious collection, which also includes bags, jewelry, and shoes, is helping H&M get one step closer to reaching their goal of using 100% recycled or sustainably-sourced materials by 2030. So, if you're interested in trying out more sustainable fashion, you might as well start clearing your closet for more cute H&M finds.
