Gwyneth Paltrow and Her Daughter, Apple Martin, Just Gave a Rare Joint Interview for Goop

Gwyneth Paltrow had not one, not two, but three generations of Paltrow women promote Goop this week. In a new Instagram video posted on August 2, the entrepreneur sat down with her 16-year-old daughter, Apple Martin, and her mother, Blythe Danner.

Apple, in a rare public appearance, helped out by leading an interview in which she asked her mom and her grandmother about their beauty secrets. She also helped open the conversation up so Paltrow could talk about some new Goop products she’s been working on.

At the beginning of the video, Apple asks what advice Paltrow and Danner would give to their younger selves. “Grow up!” Danner jokes, and Paltrow cracks, “Get your shit together, man!”

Paltrow then introduced her co-conspirators by turning the camera onto herself and her kin. “Okay, I am in my garden, and I am here to tell you about some very special Goop products today that we have coming out with some very special guests to help me tell you all about them,” she said, giving us only a little glimpse of Apple.

In an extended version of the video posted on Goop’s YouTube channel, Apple pops in and out more frequently, asking questions of her mom and grandmother, such as when they “felt the prettiest” and who taught them about skin care

Paltrow shared that she felt “really great” in her late 30s and opened up about aging. “It’s definitely a process, and I think when you see your face start to change, you don’t necessarily feel your most beautiful, externally,” she said. “But the irony is that time in your life when you actually really like yourself and love yourself so you sort of internally feel really beautiful.”

Danner countered that she felt her most beautiful in her 50s, and said that the first person who ever taught her about skin care was her own mother, whose beauty routine was just to use Vaseline.

That’s a lot more straightforward than, say, relaxing with a vagina candle, but to each their own.
