She insists that life 'seems to be getting sweeter' as she ages.

Gwyneth Paltrow is doing some reflecting on life ahead of her upcoming 50th birthday

The actress, 49, took to Instagram on Thursday to share a sultry swimsuit snap before she turns 50 next week. The black-and-white photo featured Paltrow leaping in a bikini in front of a scenic grassy landscape.

"Musings on a milestone," the Iron Man alum captioned the post, while directing her followers to a link in her bio to her Goop blog, where she spoke honestly about approaching the major milestone.

"On September 27, I'll turn 50," she wrote, adding, "I strangely have no sense of time passed." While she noted that things have changed over the years, she insists that life "seems to be getting sweeter" as she ages.

Paltrow—who shares daughter Apple, 18, and son Moses, 16, with ex Chris Martin—also talks about her body, which she candidly says "is less timeless."

While she points out the scars that have altered her body throughout her life, including marks from "oven burns, a finger smashed in a window long ago, the birth of a child," the Oscar winner is accepting of the way her body has changed.

"I accept the marks and the loosening skin, the wrinkles. I accept my body and let go of the need to be perfect, look perfect, defy gravity, defy logic, defy humanity," she wrote. "I accept my humanity."

Paltrow isn't just accepting of her body's physical journey, but she also reflected on her growth as a person, including even her mistakes and shortcomings.

"I have hurt people, never intentionally, but I have done so just the same. I have let people down by not being who they needed me to be. I have betrayed myself to keep the peace. I have crossed lines," she honestly admitted, while explaining that her mistakes have let her to a "better version" of herself.

"I am imperfect," she further confessed, while also mentioning her redeeming qualities, describing herself as  "generous and funny," and "smart and brave."

"Every human being has their own spectrums and colors and different proportions of light and dark," the post continued. "I want to hold myself in that understanding as I move through this (hopefully) next 50 years."
