The months leading up to a wedding typically consists of high-fiber salads and Pilates classes galore—which is exactly what we would have expected from the Goop Queen herself. But, in a shocking turn of events, famed health nut Gwyneth Paltrow threw aside her usual kale and kombucha in favor of…wait for it…whiskey and French fries. I mean, ALL HAIL, GP.
Yes, that’s correct. Even the clean eating, health conscious lifestyle mogul enjoyed a little fried food and liquor during the days leading up to her big day. This off-brand info came out during the first installment of Goop’s new podcast, The Beauty Closet. After discussing the beauty benefits of a clean and balanced diet, the hosts asked if Paltrow had eliminated alcohol, caffeine, gluten, dairy, and sugar (FYI, we think this sounds miserable) in preparation for her wedding with long-time boyfriend, Brad Falchuk.
Her answer: “I was too stressed! No, I was really like French fries and whiskey right up to the day.” She adds, “It’s the new Goop way, OK?” Major respect.
We would be remiss not to mention that Paltrow and Falchuk’s pre and post reception looked absolutely incredible. Master chef, Francis Mallmann, flew in from Argentina to serve up everything from slow-cooked, wood-fired pineapple and salt-crusted salmon to rib-eye steaks and cooked veggies for the rehearsal dinner.
Then, once “I-dos” were exchanged, an Italian feast of incomprehensible tastiness was served. Chicken parmesan mastermind Mario Carbone, who is responsible for NYC hot spots, Carbone and Parm, was called upon to feed guests during the reception. The menu included scampi tortellini, prime rib, honey mustard duckling, and more. OK, um, where was my invite???
