Gwen Stefani Says She & Blake Shelton Sing Instead of Talk to Each Other – And He's a Great Cook

Gwen Stefani was cooking and confessing up a storm on Monday.

The singer joined forces with Food Network’s Giada De Laurentiis for a fun day in the kitchen while baking the chef’s Apple Parmesan Pie recipe on Williams Sonoma’s Facebook Live.

But instead of plating up a meal, the star did plenty of dishing about her relationship with Blake Shelton.

As the songstress and the celebrity chef got baking, De Laurentiis asked Stefani if she and Shelton, who met while judging on The Voice, ever sing together in the kitchen.

“We’re like we’re in a musical constantly and we just sing,” Stefani joked. “We actually don’t talk to each other, we just sing like a musical and everything we sing is like ‘I love you,’ like it’s pretty much the whole time like how great we are.”

She also revealed that this year’s Sexiest Man Alive “has a good feel for cooking.”

“Mostly things that are bad for you,” Stefani told the chef. “Everything’s fried. It shocks me, because growing up in California, we are a specific breed, we learn how to be healthy and in Oklahoma they learn just how to have fun and eat and like not worry about it. It’s fun though.”

Stefani was certainly loving being in the kitchen with De Laurentiis with the star exclaiming, “This is so crazy!” Stefani while snapping her fingers and doing a little dance. “I’m excited, this is surreal. I love you.”

The chef walked Stefani through each step from creating the homemade crust to topping the pie with whipped cream, while discussing their favorite holiday traditions.

“I’m a Christmas freak,” Stefani said, revealing she occasionally cooks but doesn’t “have the patience.” “I did the pot pie just recently, like two weeks ago. I was so proud of it.”

For the holidays, Stefani said they do an “Italian Christmas.”

“Last year, for the first time, me and Blake, because we had a lot of time on our hands because the kids came back the day after Christmas, on Christmas Day we cooked all day and we did like the craziest carb fest,” she said.

“We did homemade gnocchi, potato gnocchi, we did lasagna, which is my mom’s recipe, which is the reason why I say it’s like a 50s recipe because you use like a packet so I know that’s like illegal for you guys … but it’s my mom’s recipe from my grandma that is not Italian, so anyways, it’s still the family recipe.”
