Guy Trolls Facebook With Series of Fake "Engagement Photos"

Now that I'm officially in my late 20s, my Facebook feed has become a minefield of smiley, happy engagement photos. Sure, it's cute, and I'm deeply happy for each and every couple who decides to take the next step in their relationship (lol) — but I'm kind of over the idea that when something big happens in someone's life, it immediately has to be shared on social media. (Is anything sacred anymore?!) Well, I guess Zach Lamplugh, an Atlanta-based Facebook member, had the same idea.

As Elite Daily points out, our new friend Lamplugh decided to straight-up troll everyone in his friend list with a series of engagement-announcement photos, showcasing his commitment to his new life — with multiple people (no judgment).

It all started with a sweet smiling photo alongside his friend Somaly. "We finally made it official!!!" the caption said. As you can see in the comments, friends of Lamplugh believed this was the real deal and congratulated the happy couple.

But Lamplugh didn't stop the joke there. "Wow! I couldn't believe the overwhelming support I received online for getting engaged! So many of you liked my post that I went ahead and got engaged a second time! Thank you everyone for all your encouragement!" he wrote in a photo showcasing his "love" for a second friend, Sopheak. (Somaly was shown crying in the background.)

And then it happened a third time. This time with Stephanie. "Wow everyone! Thanks to your love and support online I was able to get engaged for a third time! So excited for our future together!!!" At what point does this become annoying? Maybe now?

Lamplugh continued the charade well into the rest of the day by popping the faux question to not one but six more members of his friend circle.

Suffice it to say, Lamplugh and his faux fiancées had a busy day. A busy day throwing lots of shade at those who enjoy sharing their big news (and collecting copious likes and loads of digital affirmation) on Facebook. But, hey, we get it — social media has become a stomping ground for big life announcements and #humblebrags, and after a while, it can all get to be a little much. So thanks, Lamplugh, for poking fun at what's unwaveringly become the social media norm.
