Here's What Guy Pearce Had To Say After Seemingly Dissing Cate Blanchett's Critics Choice Win

Guy Pearce says things are all good between him and Cate Blanchett — but some of his tweets definitely say otherwise!

Earlier this month, Cate took home Best Actress at the Critics Choice Awards for her role in Tár, but Guy was apparently rooting for someone else.

Ahead of the award results, Guy had posted that he was rooting for Ana De Armas, and he honestly seemed bitter when Cate won instead.

In a now-deleted tweet, Guy shared the news of Cate's win, allegedly responding with "Fascinating choice..."

To top it off, he later retweeted a fan account dedicated to Cate that included images of her posing for a bondage-inspired photo shoot, reportedly writing, "Ah, no thanks."

Although Guy has since deleted his tweets about Cate, fans have questioned why he seemingly has beef with his fellow Aussie actor.

While some fans have pointed to a pay dispute stemming back to a 2009 performance with the Sydney Theatre Company, Guy says he has no bad blood with Cate.

In response to a fan who questioned Guy's deleted tweets, he admitted that he was actually a big fan of Cate.

"Fear not. No beef at all," he wrote. "I was merely being sarcastic. I adore Miss CB. She’s incredible…..One of our best!"

Cate has yet to respond to the whole thing, but we'll keep you posted if she does!
