Some Guy Just Proposed to His Girlfriend at the Emmys, and It Didn't Suck

Tonight, a funny thing happened while Glenn Weiss was receiving the Emmy for Directing for a Variety Special, by all accounts a minor blip of an award on the night's radar. After referencing his mom, who passed away just two weeks ago, he turned to thank his girlfriend, Jan. Here's what he had to say:

"You are the sunshine in my life... You wanna know why I don't want to call you my girlfriend? Because I want to call you my wife."

Chaos.

In front of thousands of strangers and a very approving Sterling K. Brown, Weiss proposed to his girlfriend onstage at the Emmys, and you know what? Fuck it. I loved it, and so did you.
