I'd like to shake the hand of the person who invented the concept of Cyber Monday. It was probably multiple people, but that doesn't matter – I love online discounts so much that I'd take the time to congratulate everyone individually. The thing is, I hate Black Friday. I loathe the horrific stories of people being trampled for a discount television, I get anxious over long lines, and I fear not being able to find my vehicle in a sea of parked cars after a day of sales and stress. Cyber Monday is the world's way of saying "Hey, girl. You can shop in your pajamas. You can peruse our sales without taking a shower – with no judgment from anyone. And even better, you can do it on your time – since your time is valuable."
Here are a few good places to get your discount on this year.
J. Crew – If I could have any wish – besides wishing for more wishes – it'd be for J. Crew to give me all of their clothes for free. Since this is impossible, here's the next best thing: from now until December 1st, you can use the discount code "HOLIDAY" to get 30% off purchases. (Stay tuned for other sales.)
Clinique – If you're looking for some makeup, Clinique is offering 4 free makeup minis with any $25 purchase as well as free shipping on every order with the code "PRETTY".
Meow Cosmetics – Popular for their mineral cosmetics, Meow has two promos going on for Cyber Monday. Get 20% off with code "GOBBLE", or 20% off and free shipping on an order that's over $40 with code "LIGHTUP".
Sephora – Our friends at Sephora are offering quite a deal. Get a free makeup bag and 5 surprise samples with any purchase over $25 with code "SUSPENSE". If that's not your thing, you can also get free shipping with a $25 purchase by using "SHIPNOW" from November 30th to December 9th.
Smashbox – Since we're on the topic of makeup, Smashbox will give you 25% off everything with a $50 purchase if you use the code "HOLIDAY25".
Staples – The office supply giant has hinted at what it'll offer for Cyber Monday, and it seems like they're giving an extra favor to those who shop with their smart phones. The Staples Cyber Monday deals will include a Nexus 7 at $199 – but shoppers who buy on their iPhone, Android or Windows Phone can get a $10 off $30 purchase coupon code. If you (or your loved one) is in the market for a new computer, Staples will also offer an iDell 15" Touch Screen Laptop for $379.99 and a Gateway 20" All-in-One Desktop PC for $299.99 for Cyber Monday.
Target – Target is so in love with Cyber Monday that they extended the event to "cyber week". More than 100,000 items will be on sale, and those of you with a Target REDcard will get an additional 5% off as well as free shipping when you shop online.
ModCloth – I love ModCloth for their super cute dresses and innovative home decor. They're currently having a 50% off sale on select items, so make sure to grab what you want before they run out! (And check the site often for more deals.)
Paper Crown – Do you love Lauren Conrad's style? Starting Friday and ending Monday at 12 PM, you can use the promo code "EXTRA25" for 25 percent off the purchase of any of the amazing dresses she's designed.
