Grieving mom is comforted by her 5-year-old in touching walkie-talkie moment: ‘Don’t be sad’

A mother shared the touching moment her 5-year-old daughter gave her a “therapy” session.

TikToker Ashlee Ann is a life coach and mother. But grief has been a staple in her life since 2019, when her 14-year-old daughter Paige died suddenly. Doctors believed the teen had a genetic mutation that caused her to unexpectedly experience heart failure. For any parent, the loss of a child is unfathomable.

When Ashlee Ann was having a particularly difficult day, she phoned in with her “5-year-old therapist” over a walkie-talkie.

Ashlee Ann told her daughter Aria over the walkie-talkie, “I just want to tell you I love you.”

“I love you,” Aria replied.

“Do you?” Ashlee Ann asked.

“Are you sad?” Aria said.

“A little…” the mother responded.

“Why?” Aria asked.

“Just thinking about Paigey,” the mom said.

Tinashe is calling the shots:

“Keep thinking about her. But just don’t be sad,” Aria advised. “Would you like to come up in my room and watch me play?”

The mom looked like she was nearly brought to tears by her daughter’s thoughtfulness.

“Yes, I would,” Ashlee Ann said.

The touching video received over 9.8 million views and 2.2 million likes on TikTok.

“Such a sweet girl. She loves you and wanted to make you feel better. She’s so smart and loving!” a user wrote.

“Great communication between mother and daughter,” another said.

“My kids KNOW when something is wrong, and even if I say nothing is wrong, they still KNOW. And they always do something to comfort me. Love this,” someone commented.
