Because the last season of Grey’s Anatomy was cut short due to, um, the coronavirus, there were a lot of loose ends this season needed to tie up. But obviously, starting the show in the midst of the pandemic made that a little bit complicated. Grey’s has filled in some gaps through flashbacks, but last night, fans started to see some closure on a storyline that had seemingly gone by the wayside. It turns out Andrew DeLuca might finally get to see the demise of the woman responsible for the sex trafficking incident last season.

Carried over from the Station 19 episode that played the hour before Grey’s, two girls were admitted to the hospital after being kidnapped. The man who kidnapped them was also admitted, and there was a whole ethical dilemma about how to treat that man, because he is a terrible person. Classic! But the twist came when a woman came to the hospital and said she had been mugged, but she started walking around clearly looking for that guy. Later in the episode, DeLuca recognized her in the parking lot, and that’s the last we got to see before the episode ended.

Let’s just say fans of the show are really, really happy that this lady might finally get what’s coming for her and that the storyline came back at all AND that when DeLuca recognized her, his sister actually believed him. Fans on Reddit are praising all the above. “I absolutely NEED DeLuca to be the one that recognizes that bitch,” one wrote while watching the show. “At least Carina believed him this time. I swore she was going to get into it with him about taking his meds,” another wrote. And another person said, “I’m here for the DeLuca redemption arc.”

Unfortunately, last night’s episode was the winter finale of the season, so we’re going to have to wait until MARCH to see what happens here. Ugh. Until then!
