Gregory J. Styduhar has been appointed as the new chief judge of the 10th Judicial District Court following current Chief Judge Deborah Eyler's upcoming retirement on April 29.

The appointment was made by Colorado Supreme Court Chief Justice Brian D. Boatright.

“Chief Judge Eyler’s tenure as a judicial officer, starting with her service as a magistrate and family court facilitator in 2003, is a testament to her dedication to public service, and we wish her the best in retirement,” Boatright said.

Styduhar is a Pueblo native who graduated from Central High School in 1992, according to his biography on the 10th Judicial District website.

He received his undergraduate degree in biology from the University of Southern Colorado, now Colorado State University Pueblo, and then attended Creighton University School of Law, where he obtained his law degree.

Styduhar was sworn in as a district court judge in February 2020 after serving as a magistrate in the 10th Judicial District since 2017. He has worked in both the private and public sectors, holding positions as an associate attorney with Koncilja & Koncilja, P.C., assistant city attorney with the city of Pueblo, and attorney for Pueblo County, according to his biography.

He also is a father of four.
