You’re not alone if you’re experiencing a serious case of wanderlust as we roll into 2 ½ years of the pandemic. Seven in 10 Americans report that they plan to take off on a vacation in the next 12 months, according to a NerdWallet survey conducted online by The Harris Poll. While you might not be able to book a stay at one of the 50 most expensive homes in America, you can stay at something far more unique than a typical hotel. We’re still catching our breath over these 28 brand-new luxury hotels, and are also huge fans of the vacation rental concept when we have a larger crowd and are in the mood for something more off-script.

Thankfully, sites like VRBO and Airbnb make it a breeze to book a staycation or vacation in all corners of the world (even the arctic or on a llama farm!). Last month, Airbnb debuted a completely new way to search via Airbnb Categories that allows users to potentially discover places they wouldn't have known to search for. From windmills and towers to treehouses and castles, you can focus your search not only on your ideal travel timing and location, but also the style of the venue on Airbnb.

Here’s some tasteful news for all the wine lovers out there: One of the 50 new Airbnb Categories is vineyards. What better way to allow your cab cravings to hit home than to book a stay at a working vineyard?

According to UK-based publication The Drinks Business, Airbnb currently offers more than 120,000 vineyard listings across the globe.

"Airbnb offers so many different options to stay either on or near vineyards, many of which are located in some of the most beautiful parts of the country," Simon Thorpe MW, CEO of the British wine association WineGB, tells The Drinks Business. "We couldn't be more delighted that there is now a 'vineyard' category which will open up many more opportunities to discover some of Britain's wine gems."

In 2021, vineyard listings in the UK alone earned about $36 million U.S. dollars (even though at the time, not highlighted in a standalone category). With this new search option, they hope to inspire an even larger grape getaway boom.
