Chelsea Handler used her latest comedy special, Evolution on HBO Max, as an outlet to express her “strong and deep sexual feelings” for New York Governor Andrew Cuomo.

During an appearance on The View earlier this week, Handler opened up about her pandemic-inspired crush, telling the hosts, “We were so dehydrated for real leadership, that when he came on the scene looking like this big Italian hunk … He’s like, ‘Wear a mask.’ I’m like, ‘I’ll wear a mask. I’ll put a mask on every part of my body! I wanna flatten your curve, and you can flatten my curve, and then we can both apex together.”

Handler went on to reveal that she’d spoken to Cuomo “a few months ago” and asked him out. “He did say yes,” she revealed, but “then I never heard from him."

When Cuomo visited The View on Thursday, he was asked the question of our times: “Governor, are you ghosting Chelsea Handler?”

"I've had a lot of conversations about flattening the curve, but never quite that way," Cuomo said with a laugh. "I'm a big fan of Chelsea's. She's great. We have fun."

That said, there’s one very on-brand requirement he has for any prospective dates.

“On my dating life, you know, I am only dating at this point, in-state residents," he explained, referencing New York’s COVID-19 Travel Advisory. "So, if Chelsea changes her residence, then maybe we can work it out."
