Chicken Parmesan seems like a logical offering from the fried chicken sandwich maker.

Remember when the Popeye's vs. Chick-fil-A fried chicken sandwich debate -- not a government-mandated stay-at-home order -- was the main issue tearing us apart? Well, things have certainly changed, but Chick-fil-A wants to help us bring some chicken talk back into our lives, by offering chicken Parmesan meal kits at participating restaurants nationwide.

Yes, Chick-fil-A announced on Thursday that, starting May 4, the runner-up for best friend chicken sandwich will offer its chicken Parm kits for around $15. One bundle serves two adults -- it comes with two already-seasoned, breaded, and pressure-cooked chicken filets (you can choose between original and spicy), marinara sauce, Italian-style cheeses, and a garlic and lemon pasta. As you can see, you're not getting raw chicken in a box or anything like that, but you do have to put all the elements together.

The kits can be purchased at the drive-thru, via the Chick-fil-A mobile app, or through a third party delivery service like DoorDash.

Chick-fil-A released meal kits at Atlanta locations in 2018, but those DIY packages disappeared that same year, instead of going national. Stuart Tracy, senior culinary lead at Chick-fil-A, said in a press release that the brand's decision to release the new kits nationwide was based on the customer's newfound need for "convenient mealtime options.

“We hope that providing a dinner option for guests who are ordering lunch with us will help make mealtime decisions easier," said Tracy. "The goal is to deliver the joy of cooking without added stress, and the recipe is simple enough that even the kids can help!"

According to the press release, the response was incredibly positive. Thrillist reported that reactions were mixed on social media, but they were also offering enchiladas at the time, which aren't as fool-proof to prep as a simple chicken filet.

If you have no faith in your meal kit food assembly skills, keep in mind that Chick-fil-A is currently offering an awesome family meal bundle, which also starts at around the same price as the kit.
