The road leading up to the birth of Charlotte was by no means an easy one. The home reno expert endured a grueling battle with infertility before announcing her pregnancy this past March. In late 2019, she wrote on Instagram: "We were told another round of IVF would be unsuccessful and our only option for me to carry another baby would be with an donor egg." This news was devastating to Starsiak as she really had her heart set on creating baby number two without involving a third-party. She even told People that a doctor had told her that she had less than a one percent chance of naturally conceiving.

Despite her slim to nothing odds, Starsiak miraculously became pregnant with her second child. During a recently-aired episode of Good Bones, fans even got to watch the exact moment she shared the good news with her brother, Tad. In the heartwarming scene, he started to tear up as he hugged his sister.

While this second pregnancy was a wonderful surprise, it did come with some unwanted side effects. Starsiak revealed earlier this month that she had developed diastasis recti during, which is the partial or complete separation of one's abdominal muscles that meet at the midline of the stomach. She noted on her Instagram stories that the fix would most likely be surgical. "We'll see. Step one, have a baby," she said.

While it may not have been the easiest pregnancy, we're so glad Charlotte is finally here. HGTV adds that throughout the pregnancy, the couple began referring to their upcoming arrival as "Baby Charlie" in order to not disclose the gender. The network notes that they plan to continue using that nickname.
