The Great actress Elle Fanning didn't walk the Golden Globes red carpet tonight, with the coronavirus pandemic drastically reducing the number of people at the bicoastal ceremony. But the nominee did dress up and debuted her gorgeous Gucci gown on her Instagram. Fanning channeled Disney's Elsa, choosing a long silky pastel blue dress. She wore her hair in a bun.

Fanning captioned her Instagram, “Dressed up for a night in for the @goldenglobes Thank you to my beautiful hair and makeup team on the show @erinayanianmonroe and @glynnlorraine They transform me into Catherine every day on set and are a part of this special day! @garethgatrell is our mega stills photographer on The Great and we had such a fun time taking these photos. Thank you @alessandro_michele for this glorious dress! I heart @gucci forever! And sparkling @leightonjewels.”

Fanning has a Golden Globes nomination for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy TV Series. Her show The Great will be back for a season 2, by the way. Fanning spoke to Deadline a little about what to expect earlier in February: “Catherine, I feel, has a real soft spot for [Peter], which gets to be explored,” she said. “Their relationship gets way more twisted. So we have a lot working together.”

She also reflected on how producing the show too changed the way she saw herself in the industry. “I felt like I was, as Elle, coming into my power and learning my authority and navigating that world, which is often male-led,” she said. “I found myself there and had to find my voice in a sense. Catherine is the same way. She’s finding her power.”
