There’s nothing like a con for your favorite show. A gathering that’s meant for purely you. In this magical land, you can talk about your favorite characters as much as you want, all the merch you can dream of sits laid out before you, and you get to enjoy whole days of celebrating the thing that you love. Every fanbase deserves one. And now, one beloved show is getting its own special convention. That’s right, a Golden Girls convention has arrived to light up our lives. Golden-Con arrives in April 2022.

Friends, pals and confidants–get ready to laugh your way through a first-of-its-kind, weekend-long classic TV comedy fan gathering! Golden Con: Thank You For Being a Fan, will take place from April 22 to April 24 in Chicago’s historically LGBTQ+ Northalsted Neighborhood.
Fans and Super-Fans are gathering together for a fun-filled weekend to celebrate TV’s most revered comedy with laughter, and friendship, and perhaps some cheesecake. Events for the Fan Convention include, a “Greatest Gift” Vendor’s Market, the live parody shows from Hell in a Handbag Theater Company (http://www.handbagproductions.org); the “Chicago: You’ve Got Style” costume parade; specially themed nightlife events; and a weekend-long battle to Grab! That! Trivia! Dough! Additional Events, Performers, and special guest appearances will be announced in the months and weeks leading up to the convention.
A market, cheesecake, trivia, and even special guests? Even a Pop-Up Rusty Anchor Bar? Sign us up. This sounds like the perfect outing for you and your favorite friends. We also love that a historically LGBTQ+ area will play host to this con. Golden Girls was a progressive show in its day. And it remains a favorite of the LGBTQ+ community. This sounds like an inclusive and joyful event.
Q: Is this a fun girls weekend trip?
A:Does a pepperoni swim upstream? It did once! Yes. This is a fun event and getaway where friendship is celebrated. Come hang out with your established pals and confidantes. Make new friends during the event. There are so many fun things to do and see at Golden-Con and Chicago’s Northalsted neighborhood where Golden-Con takes place. You won’t be bored for a second.
