Is there going to be a second season of From Scratch on Netflix?

Netflix's newest drama series From Scratch has got viewers grabbing the tissues and wanting to book the next flight out to Italy, after watching Amy and Lino's love story play out.
From Scratch, based on the memoir of the same name by Tembi Locke, tells the emotional story of an American art student Amy (played by Zoe Saldaña) who travels to Florence, where she falls in love with a Sicilian chef named Lino (Eugenio Mastrandrea). The series explores their love story covering everything from babies, marriage and family fall outs. And when Lino gets sick, their two families must come together to support them.
The eight-part series dropped on Netflix last Friday (21st October) and has climbed rapidly up the Top 10. Viewers have been racing through the series, with many wondering if there will be a second series.
Here's everything we know about a potential season two of From Scratch.
Will From Scratch on Netflix get a season 2?
So far, Netflix has not confirmed if Amy and her family will be returning for a second season of From Scratch.
Given the show is a limited series it's unlikely to have another series, but we're keeping our fingers crossed.
Who might star in a potential From Scratch season 2?
If there were to be a second season of From Scratch, then ideally Zoe Saldaña would return to reprise her role as Amy.
Hopefully Danielle Deadwyler (Zorra), Judith Scott (Maxine), Kellita Smith (Lynn), Lucia Sardo (Filomena) and Keith David (Hershel) would all return to their roles as well.
One person who sadly wouldn't be returning is Eugenio Mastrandrea as his character Lino dies in the seventh episode of the series. However, there could be a potential for him to return in flashback scenes.
Depending on if the series returns and what time period it is set in, it's unlikely Isla Colbert would reprise her role as Idalia (Amy and Lino's daughter) as she would be too young, and another actor would instead potentially take over the role, to reflect a new age for the character.
What would a potential season 2 of From Scratch be about?
A second season of From Scratch is yet to be confirmed by Netflix, so it's unsure what a potential plot would be.
The series is inspired by the true story of Tombi Locke and her husband Saro Gullo who sadly died in 2012. Tombi released a memoir of the same name about their love story in 2019, which is the inspiration for the series.
Given it is inspired by Tombi's life, there could be a potential second season that focuses on what has happened since Saro's death.
Viewers have all fallen in love with Amy and her large extended family in the series, and I for one, would happily just watch another season of them going about their daily lives.
When might season 2 of From Scratch be released?
Unfortunately, until Netflix confirms another season of From Scratch, we won't know of a potential release date.
