Is there going to be a season 2 of The Snow Girl on Netflix?
If there's one thing we can guarantee we'll be watching it's a crime thriller, which is why we were so thrilled Netflix dropped new series The Snow Girl last week (27th January).
The six part Spanish series is based on the novel of the same name by Javier Castillo, and tells the story of a young investigative journalist Miren (Milena Smit). Miren is attempting to the solve case of five-year-old Amaya who was kidnapped in a busy parade in Malaga in 2010. Whilst trying to solve the case, Miren also deals with own demons.
We've been loving the tense series, but after that cliffhanger ending, we're desperate to know, is there going to be a season two of The Snow Girl on Netflix? Well, this is everything we know so far.
Has The Snow Girl been renewed for a season two?
Right now we haven't heard anything from Netflix about a season two of The Snow Girl.
But that doesn't mean we should give up hope on our new favourite crime thriller. Netflix will often wait to see how a show is received by viewers before announcing another season.
What would a potential season 2 of The Snow Girl be about?
Ok, so spoilers but The Snow Girl ends on a massive cliff hanger ending.
Two years after Miren has solved the case of Amaya and returned her safely to her parents, she has written a book about the investigation. She is seen giving a reading at a book signing, with Eduardo looking on happily.
As the two go to leave the book signing at the end of the night, Miren is given an envelope which has the words "want to play?" written on it. We're suspicious already.
Inside the envelope is a Polaroid picture of a young woman who appears to be bound and gagged, with the picture dated 2012 and a woman's name 'Laura Valdivia'.
The episode ends there, which surely means if season two is confirmed we'd see Miren attempt to the solve the case of what happened to Laura.
Who would star in The Snow Girl season 2?
So far season two of The Snow Girl hasn't been confirmed but if it does return we'd expect to see Milena Smit reprise her role as journalist Miren.
We'd also like to see José Coronado return as Eduardo. We could also maybe see Aixa Villagràn return as inspector Belén Millán.
Is there a release date for The Snow Girl season 2?
Until season two has been confirmed we won't have a release date for The Snow Girl season two.
Guess we'll just have to rewatch season one for now.
