What’s Going on With This Local News Interview?
I’m ride or die for my local news station. Unlike the regular news, which is back-to-back coverage on whatever Nancy Pelosi is doing or decrepit war hawks trying to get us to bomb Iran, local news gives you simple and pure human interest stories like “a woman started a knitwear company and named it after her two pet turtles” or “we gave Roger Clark a bow and arrow then put him on a boat full of pizza in the East River.” (Real heads know.)
Because I can appreciate the beauty of local news in all of its many forms, let us examine this clip from KUSI-TV in San Diego. The indie band the Black Lips was booked for an interview on Good Morning San Diego. Two out of five members show up. One of them is missing a tooth. It’s 8:15 a.m. and they’re definitely still wasted.
But the anchor is not going to let them ruin this interview.
