Gluten-Free, Vegan Cookie Dough Now Exists, Thanks to Hannah Bronfman

When it comes to cookie dough, people are divided. Is it good for you? Is it bad for you? Does it even matter if it tastes so damn delicious? HBFIT founder Hannah Bronfman is pleading the fifth by teaming up with New York-based dessert shop Jars by Dani on a line of gluten-free and vegan dessert jars for the holiday season. The first one, launching today, features cookie dough bites, chocolate mousse, fudge brownie, whipped cream, and chocolate chips (yeah, we're salivating too). "HBFIT wanted to do something sweet and special for the holidays and Jars by Dani wanted to create a healthy option so we teamed up to bring you just that," Bronfman told InStyle.com of the collaboration.

Here, she discusses the pillars of her diet and the new dessert, available now at jarsbydani.com.

What surprised you the most about gluten?
How much it can destroy the lining of your gut.

Besides cookie dough, how do you incorporate gluten-free, vegan foods into your diet?
I'm not vegan, but choosing gluten-free or vegan options is easy for me because I love to cook at home with a focus on an alternative ingredients. Many nights I make veggie curries with coconut milk. I do eat locally sourced meat, and a gluten-free option I love is zucchini noodles and chicken meatballs. I even had a raw pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving from Rawsome treats. I love showing people how delicious vegan and gluten-free options can be.

What are your favorite gluten-free restaurants in NYC?
There are so many—it's hard to choose! De Maria is one of my favorites. Siggi’s, Spring Bone Kitchen, Blossom, Two Hands, and Bondi Sushi all have great options, too.
