Glee Stars and Other Celebrities Offer Hope and Prayers Following Naya Rivera's Disappearance

Celebrities and fans have posted an outpouring of support and love after Glee star Naya Rivera was presumed dead in California. Rivera was involved in a swimming accident after taking a boat out on Lake Piru in Ventura County with Josey Hollis Dorsey, her 4-year-old son. He was found on the boat wearing his life jacket and in good health.

Co-stars Heather Morrison, Damian McGinty, Dot Marie Jones, and Harry Shum posted notes to Rivera as authorities continued to search for her.

"We need all the prayers we can get to bring our Naya back home to us. We need your love and light," Morris wrote in a now-expired Instagram Story. On her feed, she featured a video of clouds with the hashtag #bringnayahome.

Other stars like Demi Lovato, who appeared on season 5 of Glee; Jackée Harry, Rivera's The Royal Family co-star, and Queer Eye's Karamo Brown, spoke out about the star's disappearance. Ex-boyfriend Big Sean also liked a number of tweets supporting the search effort, including one from Ben Baller and another from Los Angeles radio station Real 92.3.

"Please pray for @nayarivera to be found safe and sound," Lovato posted in a Story. On Thursday, she offered another note on Twitter, writing, "I don't tweet often but sometimes my tweets come true so, together let's manifest on twitter that Naya will be found safe and sound!! Come on y'all! Let's put this energy out there: they will find her healthy and alive!!"

Many more echoed the sentiment, including Casey Wilson, who wrote, "Praying for the safe return of Naya Rivera. Holding her and her son in my heart. Holding them close." Leah Remini also posted on Instagram.

Search teams noted the lake's specific conditions, which makes it difficult to see underwater. According to CNN, Ventura County Sheriff's Deputy Miguel Gonzalez said that it usually takes a body three days to resurface, "depending on what the person was wearing and had eaten." People notes that authorities say they might not ever find a body.

"Under the water, it's a lot by feel again, a lot of shrubbery and sticks we have to break through. It's kind of a braille search," Max O'Brien, Ventura County Search and Rescue diver, said. "This lake doesn't really have a current so anything that usually drops will stay; if it reaches the bottom, it will stay on the bottom."
