You Can Go Glamping at Sea on This Cruise to the Galapagos Islands

Camping under the stars sounds like a romantic getaway, but glamping under the stars brings it to a brand new level. Especially when you take your trip out to sea.

The Celebrity Flora, a Celebrity Cruises ship that sails to the Galapagos Islands, is now offering a unique experience to passengers: glamping at sea on the top deck of the ship, Travel Pulse reported.

Every night, up to four guests can book the “top deck experience,” where they can stay in two cabanas (one for sleeping and the other for dining al fresco), as well as enjoy a spectacular view of the stars at night. In the morning guests are treated to breakfast-in-bed as they gaze at a gorgeous sunrise over the water.

“Our new Galapagos Glamping experience gives guests an incredible opportunity to experience the destination the ship was built for, on a whole new level, under the millions of stars above,” Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, president and CEO of Celebrity Cruises, told Travel Pulse.

An onboard naturalist will guide campers and educate them on the stars and visible constellations. The menu is also “campfire themed,” with outdoor cooking creations and, of course, s’mores.

Even if you’re unable to book a night of glamping, the ship still has many palatial rooms to stay in during your cruise. The Celebrity Flora will begin touring on May 26, 2019. Guest will be able to book both 10-day and 11-day excursions or opt for 16-day trips that voyage around both the inner loop and the outer loop of the islands.

Excursions include stops in Quito, Ecuador, as well as stops in many of the Galapagos islands where guests can go snorkeling, swimming, walking along the shores, exploring the natural wildlife, visiting giant tortoises and walking through lava tunnels.
