Tracee Ellis Ross, 47, played careerist lawyer Joan Carol Clayton, the glue tying the group together—Toni is Joan's childhood friend, Lynn is her college friend, and Maya is her assistant at her law firm.

Since Girlfriends, Tracee's become an even bigger star, thanks to her role as Bow Johnson on black-ish, which she's played since 2014. Earlier this year, she also starred in the film The High Note alongside Dakota Johnson, playing a pop star not unlike her own mother, Diana Ross. Beyond acting, Tracee also created Pattern Beauty, a collection of hair care products specifically designed for curly locks. In her free time, she loves doing at-home Tracy Anderson Method workouts.
