Girl Scout turns Samoas into 'Momoas' featuring shirtless photo of Jason Momoa to sell more cookies

Now, this is one smart cookie.

Charlotte Holmberg, a Girl Scout in Highlands Ranch, Colo., came up with a smart marketing trick to sell more cookies this year. The Top Cookie CEO — an honor given to Girl Scouts who consistently sell the most cookies — redesigned the box of one of the organization’s top-selling Samoas cookies into “Momoas,” featuring a shirtless photo of Aquaman actor Jason Momoa.

“The moms are getting really excited and are saying they need them!” Holmberg told Denver news station KUSA.

One local mom posted a picture of the newly branded boxes, writing, “Got my Girl Scout stash for the whole entire year and of course some Jason Samoas.

However, the redesigned boxes cater to more than just the ladies. The fifth grader told KUSA that “boys will also want to buy some because he might be their favorite character.”

What started out as a meme on the internet has turned into a brilliant Girl Scout Cookie promotion. According to KUSA, Holmberg and her mother, a marketing professional, came up with the idea to boost her cookie sales for the 2019 year. They began printing photos of the Hollywood actor, cutting them out and pasting them on the signature purple purple boxes with a new name: “Momoas.”

The Girl Scouts of Colorado featured the redesigned “Momoas” on its Facebook page, praising Holmberg for her “creativity.” The move has since garnered widespread attention online, with some lauding Holmberg as a “marketing genius.”

Holmberg is no stranger to cookie sales success either. She sold 2,000 boxes in 2018, KUSA reported.

For those who want a box of the super-popular cookies, they’ll have to wait until next year because the limited-edition “Momoas” have already sold out.
