Gigi Hadid Revealed Her First Big Pregnancy Craving

  • Hadid shared that she's been eating "an everything bagel a day," a craving so noticeable her family got her a cake shaped like the baked good for her 25th birthday last weekend.

Gigi Hadid is opening up about her journey to becoming a new mom—including her first round of pregnancy cravings.

During a virtual interview on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon yesterday, Hadid confirmed that she is expecting her first child with boyfriend Zayn Malik. While chatting, she also revealed that the first big pregnancy craving she cannot stop consuming is a classic breakfast staple: an everything bagel with cream cheese. The model's specific hankering for the delicious baked good explains why she rang in her 25th birthday last weekend with an over-the-top everything bagel-shaped cake.

"In the morning, my family brought out an everything bagel cake, which already blew my mind, because my craving has been everything bagels," said Hadid. "I eat an everything bagel a day, so I was so excited that my birthday cake was an everything bagel."

Hadid also revealed that famed baker Buddy Valastro of Cake Boss created her special birthday confection, a surprise the model loved so much it reportedly brought her to tears.

"I don't know if it was my hormones right now or just like quarantine emotional-ness, but I cried every five minutes for an hour every time I thought about that Buddy made my cake. I couldn't stop crying," said Hadid. "I was just so happy. Honored that he would make my cake during quarantine."

Yesterday's interview marked the first time Hadid confirmed the news of her pregnancy. She also shared that even amid the uncertainty of the coronavirus crisis, she's grateful to be able to experience her first pregnancy surrounded by close family at home.

"Especially during this time, it's a nice silver lining to be able to be home and together, and really experience it day by day," she said.
