Yesterday, the trailer for the upcoming Cats movie dropped and honestly, we need a palate cleanser to help us forget the terrifying images of our favorite stars covered in fur. Our style picks this week thankfully have no CGI fur, and not quite as much chaotic energy, they’re simply killer summer looks. From airport style to a head-to-toe (literally) Fendi outfit, keep reading for the fits that got us through the week.
Best Clashing Brands: Angelababy
Angelababy’s sporty fit at the Shanghai International airport was one of the best airport looks we’ve seen this summer. She pulled off clashing brands, a Dior t-shirt and a Balenciaga baseball cap, with ease. It was the high fashion version of wearing Nike and Adidas together and yet, somehow, Angelababy pulled it off. Plus, this casual tennis look is easy to replicate at home: bright kelly green skirt, classic white tee, paired with runners and a baseball cap and you’re set to go.
Best Instagram Return: Marsai Martin
“Haven’t posted in forever dang. Hi guys 🤪🍃” Marsai wrote on Instagram yesterday. To which we say: Hi back! And also: Please post more! We love seeing Marsai’s fit-pics, they always have an unexpected splash of color (often in the form of eyeshadow) that upgrade any outfit. For the look in question, Marsai wore high waisted black dress pants, a white tank top, and bright green neon pumps. Truly a double duty look that can go from day to night.
Best Season Defying: Kendall
The model was seen this week at LAX in a smiley face-covered sweater by Marc Jacobs. If you’re thinking: *a sweater, in this summer heat?* It’s most likely that Kendall was hopping from a freezing plane to a cool air-conditioned car, meaning she doesn’t have to abide by the seasons (it could also be she’s taking hot girl summer a little too seriously). She paired the 😀 look with black and pants and white kicks. We’re into it.
Best Red-Hot: Rosalía
Rosalía wore a matchy-matchy firetruck red outfit by the Copenhagen streetwear brand Han Kjobenhavn. The oversized fit was a bit off-brand for the singer, it was more reminiscent of Billie Eilish’s signature style, but it worked so well we’re hoping to see her rock the matching-XL trend again soon.
Fendi Fangirl: Nicki Minaj
One word comes to mind when we look at this post: FENDI. Nikki wore head-to-toe pink Fendi , which has fans anticipating a future collab. If that’s true, Nicki’s been playing a long-game, rapping last year “Bentley tints on, Fendi prints on,” in her song Chun-Li. In the video posted on her Instagram, she even had the classic Fendi logo printed on her hair. We have so many questions about that: is hair paint going to be the next trend? How did they achieve the printed-logo look? Can we replicate it at home? Is she doing a collab with Fendi?
Best Little Mermaid: Gigi Hadid
Gigi Hadid looked like a mermaid at the Michael Kors launch party, wearing none other than Michael Kors (duh). Gigi shows off how to wear neutrals in the summer, wearing shades of brown that matched her pulled back locks and smoky-eye. The silky slip dress was adorned with feathers mid-way, replicating the fin of a very fashionable mermaid. Maybe she’ll be joining Halle Bailey in the upcoming The Little Mermaid movie??
