Gigi Hadid Debuted Red Hair for Spring

Gigi Hadid is not a dirty blonde anymore, folks. The 25-year-old supermodel and new mom ditched her signature blonde strands in lieu of a new auburn-red hue, which she debuted ahead of the weekend on Instagram — as well as on the runway at the Versace show. Naturally, fans were super surprised, as Hadid hasn't gotten a major hair makeover like this in a hot minute now. As it turns out, she was inspired to go red after watching The Queen's Gambit.

All was revealed on Instagram this Friday, March 5. Hadid began by sharing some photos of the coloring process on her Story, and then eventually shared the finished look, which was executed by New York-based hairstylist Panos Papandrianos. "We went for a light ginger with a hint of cinnamon," the colorist tells Allure in an exclusive quote about the transformation. "It looks great with her complexion and it's a fresh take on red."

Papandrianos shared several photos of Hadid on his grid, along with the caption: "Ginger for Gigi 🧡🔥🧡 @gigihadid #PlayingWithColors." Of course, he's already received a slew of positive feedback from fans who are leaving comments like, "You're awesome 🔥🙌🏽 good work ❤️," "Looks great!!💖" and "Bravo Pano, she looks like a superhero now 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥."

As we mentioned, Hadid felt compelled to go red after watching Netflix's hit show, The Queen's Gambit. "She is dedicated to everyone responsible for The Queen's Gambit," reads the caption on one of her Instagram Stories in which her red hair is loose and flowing in front of her. Should you want to go red for spring, too, you can experiment with an at-home dye like Overtone's Ginger Complete System, which works best on light brown and blonde hair.

Suffice it to say, we're living for Hadid's transformation; congrats, Papandrianos, on doing such a killer job.
